Apple is expected release the iPhone 16 Pro at the end of the year, as part the entire iPhone 16 line. According to reports, the Pro devices will differ from the rest of the family by adding a new button called the Capture Button. This button will be located to the left of the device, and will allow users to quickly shoot video.
What exactly will this button do? Mark Gorman from Bloomberg, one the most reliable sources of information in the industry says that pressing the button will allow users to instantly switch to shooting videos, without having the device turned on or entering the shooting application. Gorman believes that Apple’s decision to create a new button for this feature indicates that the iPhone 16 Pro should have some unique video recording capability.
Apple has yet to confirm whether the default functionality of the Photo button will allow users to change it to take individual photos or to use it for something completely different. This would be similar to the relative versatility of the new Action Button that was added to this year’s iPhone 15 Pro Series.
By the way: The same button will be found on all iPhone 16 models. In the iPhone 16 Pro, users will find slightly larger screens (6.2 and 6.7 inches) than the regular models. This will make the iPhone 16 Pro the iPhone device with the largest screen so far.
